Tedzo was the founder of the Underground Surfboard Company . Which in it's time made boards for surfers such as Carwyn Williams ,Vic Hole (Cornish open champ mid 80's) and Ross White (English champ mid 80's). Underground became an internationally recognised company, Tedzo himself had been mentored by various prolific Australian shapers such as Bruce Smith, Terry Glass, Craig Hughes to name but a few. On this last fateful mission Tedzo had been contracted to shape and glass for a well known Gold Coast surfboard manufacturer.

The spirit of the contest will remain the same as it was when the event started. All are welcome, from longboarders to body boarders and from cadets to veterans.A prize is allocated to the best in each category. All surfers are welcome that indudes pro' and "free" surfers as is traditional at this event. YES it's your chance to surf against 'the names', and with the traditional prizegiving structure all surfers have a chance of reward and recognition.
